How many children to invite to the birthday party?

How many children should be invited to a children's birthday party? Opinions differ widely on this.

Many people remember the rule from their own childhood: "You can invite as many children as the child is old".

There are a few reasons that speak in favor of this old rule. Parents whose children have their birthday in winter and who celebrate in their own home like to invoke this old rule. Our experience also shows that this number is well suited for playing birthday games. For example, 4-year-old children already enjoy birthday games. However, if all the children have their turn one after the other, the children quickly lose patience until it is finally their turn again and start looking for their own games again. This in turn is disappointing for the last child whose turn it is when there is no one left to cheer them on. Waiting for 4 friends on the 4th children's birthday party is a good idea. With a larger number of children, we therefore recommend having two or more game leaders, for example.

But of course this old rule is not a universal guideline. There are so many individual and personal reasons that influence the number of guests invited. Be it because the child was invited to the other children's party and you feel under pressure or for the lovely reason that you simply love big parties and would like to celebrate with as many friends as possible.

Therefore, our most valuable tip is to invite as many guests as is right for you and your child, regardless of what "they" say.
