From what age are birthday games possible?
I often hear the question of when birthday games are worthwhile.
Even the very youngest children want to be kept busy, but we have the following recommendation for birthday games.
5th birthday and older
From this age, children love party games. They are enthusiastic and can hardly wait for the next game to start.
They are able to understand and follow the rules of the game. They have enough patience to wait until all the children have had their turn. Children of this age are usually able to continue having fun at the party even if they are not the winner of the game. Birthday parties of this age often take place without the children's parents, which greatly reduces the noise level, especially indoors, so that the games can be played excellently.
From now on, it's really fun to bring the theme to life and fill it with great game ideas.
4th birthday
Children aged 4 already enjoy playing party games. However, it must be expected that some children will not want to take part in the games. Of course, they should not be forced to do so. In this case, small prizes after each game can provide an incentive to take part.
In addition, the understanding of the rules and the will to stick to the rules is not yet so well developed. That's why we always offer easier game variants for younger children in our game rental boxes.
These game variations for younger children also include modifications to the games so that all children are winners in the end. For example, in the egg race, we recommend that the children do not compete at the same time but one after the other. Each child who gets the egg through the finish line in one piece is then cheered. In this way, bitter tears of defeat can be avoided.
3rd birthday
At this age, the first attempts at playing can be made. However, we recommend limiting the number of games to a maximum of 3. The games should be very simple and you should be prepared for the fact that only some of the children will take part in the games.
In addition, the games should be very simple and all children should emerge as winners. The understanding of 3-year-old children is too small for winners and losers.
We recommend avoiding blindfolded games.
We show you how you can still keep your 3-year-olds occupied with our game rental box for the very youngest.
2nd birthday
We can't recommend any classic birthday games for 2-year-olds. In most cases, the little ones don't really want to do what would be necessary for a game. They would much rather do whatever comes to mind.
That's why we've come up with activity ideas for 2-year-olds that let them live out their own urge to explore and move.
1st birthday
For children of this age, it makes no sense to offer games in the traditional sense.
However, if you still want to keep your little guests busy on your child's 1st birthday, we have some great ideas in our game rental boxes for the very youngest.
